Happy 1 month, baby girl!

Sweet Gable,

Wow, it's hard to believe it's already been a month. You have blessed our lives tremendously. You are a mover and a shaker - you're already lifting your head although you're not a fan of tummy time. You love to eat and are already 10 lbs, 15 ozs (90th percentile)..that's probably why you like to eat every two hours. You're also growing in length at 22.5 inches (95th percentile). You're head is only 14.5 inches (30th percentile)...but that's nothing to be concerned about. We've even caught you smiling a few times...not exactly at us (perhaps it's gas) but we love when you're able to show off those adorable dimples. You love to be held straight up, probably so you can see what's going on.

You're a great baby...you pretty much only cry if you're hungry, need your diaper changed or you're tired (or your tummy hurts). You are definitely a "night owl" because we struggle to get you to bed before midnight...but, you're now sleeping two 3-4 hour stretches at night, which I can't complain about (even though the early 7am mornings are taking a toll on me). You don't like to be swaddled (we've tried and tried and you've screamed and screamed)...oh the money we wasted on all of those "miracle" swaddle blankets. Even though you can't quite control your arms, you're constantly moving them and trying very hard to stand up by kicking your legs...you are very strong. We've started to introduce you to the floor discovery mat, which we think you enjoy for a little bit at a time...at least when we're on the floor with you. You love to be carried and often cry when laid down...sometimes we can get you to nap in the boppy or the bouncer seat. Some days you sleep all day and other days you're up quite a bit...so, our schedule is unpredictable (keeps life exciting :). Other than a few walks (you've pretty much slept through), we haven't taken you out yet because I'm completely paranoid that you're going to get sick (thanks to our lovely time in the hospital)...but we promise to not keep you inside forever.

We absolutely adore you and can't imagine our world without you. You make everything better. We love you.
